Thank you to our River Clean-up Crew

· POSF Office

THANK YOU TO OUR RIVER CLEAN-UP CREW We want to thank our River Clean-up Volunteer Crew who did an amazing job this past Saturday, August 24th. One group was on the water with canoes, and the other worked on Treasure Island on the water’s edge and on the island.

Everyone worked so hard and we are so grateful for all the tires, medal and other trash we removed from those areas.

Residents of Shenandoah Farms and families got to know each other and our group also included a student from Ashburn and his father who found out about our clean-up from an email from his Future Business Leaders of America Club!

A big thank you to all those who helped in doing the hard work, planning and supporting this event, to those who picked up all the trash from both localities and transported it to Meyers Boat Ramp, and are planning to go back to pick up more tires at the end of this month, especially Tracie Lane and Kathleen Mancini.

A big thank you to the Warren County public works team who picked it all up all the trash and to the Warren County Anti-Litter Council who provided clean-up materials which really helped.

  • To: Our River Clean-up Crew, Recreation Committee Members and POSF Board of Directors,Shenandoah River Keepers and Trash-Free Shenandoah. Enjoy the attached pictures!!! Residents also discussed future activities that they would like POSF to consider: 1.

Continue Annual River Clean-Up (in August/September when River is low)2. Have a Parent and Child Meet up – possibly a potluck in winter months3. Consider a project to build a doggie park (smail and large) at Treasure Island. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH AGAIN.

Sincerely,Stephanie ShaeferRecreation Chair, POSF Board of DirectorsCell-703-597-4505Email – stephanielshaefer@gmail.com * PS) If anyone still has any of the equipment such as vests, or pick-up sticks please return itto the POSF office so we can return it to the Anti-Litter Council.

Office is open on Thursdays 10 A.M.- 2 P.M. or it could be left on the picnic table behind the office.
